The "digital quote" is a crossover between the classic sales channel and the self-service check-out.
Many businesses close their deals on the telephone. The sales agent sends out a quote created in salesforce and the customer signs it, scans it and returns it to the sales agent, who then uploads it back to salesforce and closes the deal.
Every step in this long and tedious workflow is a hurdle for both the customer and the sales agent. Providers like Docusign have recognized this and already offer customizable solutions which speedup the close process.
Send Digital Quote
The Subscription Suite goes one step further. Being directly connected to both Salesforce and zuora, the Sales Agent can now send a digital quote to a customer at the press of a button - the PDF document can be attached if necessary.
The customer gets a link to the the contents of the digital quote, which appears as it would in a normal shopping cart with one difference: the quote is read only.
Update Account and contact information
The exiting account and contact information from Salesforce is displayed to the customer, who can edit / update any missing information. This feature can be activated and deactivated if no edits should be possible.
Enter Payment Method
As in the web check-out, the customer is then asked to choose a payment method and enter their payment details. This information is stored in a PCI compliant manner directly in Zuora and linked to the billing account once the purchase is confirmed.
The customer can then accept the general terms and conditions directly and confirm their purchase. At this moment, the Zuora Quote in Salesforce is confirmed and "sent to Zuora", creating the respective billing account, contact, payment method and subscriptions.
The new subscription in Zuora triggers the creation of an account in the Customer Center, where the customer can create user credentials, log in and manage their subscriptions, account and payment data
